Utilizing Renewable Methanol to Power Electric Commuter Aircraft

1 comment:

  1. ZeroAvia could increase the range of the Donier 228 by 75% if it replaced the liquid hydrogen fuel with methanol. Methanol can store more hydrogen than liquid hydrogen can per volume. And reformed methanol fuel cells are already in existence.

Methanol would also be much safer than liquid hydrogen and easier to store and quicker to refuel the aircraft.

Carbon neutral methanol can be produced from urban sewage, agricultural animal waste, the pyrolysis of urban garbage, the pyrolysis of agricultural crop waste, the pyrolysis of dead trees from the forest and fire hazardous foliage.

Carbon neutral methanol can also be produced from electricity from nuclear and solar energy directly from the atmosphere.
